As a research-oriented organization that has the potentiality of being the first of its kind in the history of Zanzibar, ZIRPP is also blessed with numerous highly qualified research people who are well versed and increasingly conversant on a variety of academic disciplines; such as international affairs, economics, geography, law, ICT, agriculture, history, medicine, etc.
Consistent with its Charter, ZIRPP is, therefore, striving to bring together Zanzibari leading experts in government and academia from, both inside and outside Zanzibar, who are capable to providing the highest quality research, policy recommendations and analysis on a variety of public policy issues affecting Zanzibar’s national life.

Muhammad Yussuf, A holder of an M.A. Degree in International Affairs, American University, Washington D.C. Dr. Hassan Omar Ali is a holder of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, University of Ottawa, Canada, (1996) and an M.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering, University of Ottawa, Canada, (1992). He did his under-graduate studies at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he obtained a B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1987. Prof. Abdulaziz Y. Lodhi: A holder of a Ph.D in African Linguistics which he obtained in 2000 at the Goteborg University, Gothenburg, Sweden. He is also a holder of a Master of Arts Degree in African Linguistics which he acquired in 1994 at Uppsala University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Swedish languages that he obtained in 1978 at the same University. He is currently Associate Professor of Swahili & Comparative Bantu, Department of Linguistics & Philology, at the Uppsala University, Sweden.
